Indicators for the State of the Humansphere

Indicators at the Country Level

World Happiness Report: The World Happiness Report is a landmark survey of the state of global happiness that ranks 156 countries by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be. The World Happiness Report 2020 for the first time ranks cities around the world by their subjective well-being and digs more deeply into how the social, urban and natural environments combine to affect our happiness.

Happy Planet Index: The Happy Planet Index measures what matters: sustainable wellbeing for all. It tells us how well nations are doing at achieving long, happy, sustainable lives.

Global Peace Index: Vision of Humanity is a guide to global peace and development for people who want to see change take place. Now reaching over 1 million unique users per year, we publish intelligent data-based global insight with articles and the latest research published every week. The Index is updated every year.

Global Corruption Index: Covering 199 countries and territories the Global Corruption Index (GCI) provides a comprehensive overview of the state of corruption around the world based on 28 variables.

Corruption Perceptions Index: The CPI scores and ranks countries/territories based on how corrupt a country’s public sector is perceived to be by experts and business executives. It is a composite index, a combination of 13 surveys and assessments of corruption, collected by a variety of reputable institutions. The CPI is the most widely used indicator of corruption worldwide.

Human Development Index: The HDI was created to emphasize that people and their capabilities should be the ultimate criteria for assessing the development of a country, not economic growth alone. The HDI can also be used to question national policy choices, asking how two countries with the same level of GNI per capita can end up with different human development outcomes. These contrasts can stimulate debate about government policy priorities. The Human Development Index (HDI) is a summary measure of average achievement in key dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living. The HDI is the geometric mean of normalized indices for each of the three dimensions.

2019 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI): The global MPI scrutinizes a person’s depri-vations across 10 indicators in health, education and standard of living and offers a high-resolution lens to identify both who is poor and how they are poor. It complements the international $1.90 a day poverty rate by showing the nature and extent of overlapping deprivations for each person.

Poverty Probability Index: The Poverty Probability Index (PPI®) is a poverty measurement tool for organizations and businesses with a mission to serve the poor.
